Trip to the zoo.

The day started early as the zoo is one hour away from home and the day was supposed to be hot. We arrived to the zoo at 10.15 and someone decided to study the zoo map before to go anywhere:

We decided to visit a little bit and take a tour on the little train zoo early (to beat the crowd).

Who wants 3 turtles?

Fun in the train:

Yes they are cute but we came for that:

Emma tried to make new friend:
Steb took a little break with his grandma (aren't they two beautiful beasts?) :

Who is watching who? Then we stopped by the petting zoo:
A goat wanted a piece of Steb
And my mom almost got kissed (or eaten ) We found a new rare specie: the Estebanus sleepinus (who couldn't handle the excitment anymore.)

We almost witnessed some live action porn between two giraffes as papa giraffe was very happy to see mama giraffe if you see what I mean ... but I guess, they remembered there were kids around and waited for some night intimacy to do what they have to do That park is working for the reproduction of the rare and endangered species so they will be very happy to have babies.

The day didn't finish as well as it started as I twisted my ankle really bad at the front of the zoo store (close to the exit). I was really in pain but nothing bad happened and I was able to take another trip in the train and drive all the way home. Chuy thinks that my ankle was not injured because we had walked a lot and the muscle was warm. I took it easy today and I can walk with no pain !!! Yeah !!!!!!

For the ones who don't care at all about our wild zoo adventures, here is my progress(from tuesday night as I didn't stitch yesterday):

Steb had a first .....

Yesterday started slowly because we took care of my friend's little boy while she was going to the hospital to have her stitches removed from her gum. Then we all headed to eat fast food. In the afternoon, my friend invited us to see the land they bought at the sea side. They are planning to build their house there. So we had a light snck there then the kids really wanted to see the sea Here are some pics of the fun and you would discover at the end what Steb did for the first time at the sea ...

Pierre managed to have a butterfly stay on his arm:

And then, the fun began:

I even saw a mermaid (lucky me !!! ):

Kids loved to play with the waves:

And then, Steb did something we didn't see coming:

That's the boy who doesn't want to pee like a real cow boy. He didn't ask for anything. He just pulled down his underwear and peed Of course, after that, we run away from the beach No, I'm kidding. There were not a lot of people because it was the end of the day, so I'm hoping nobody saw him ... We really had a great warm day (the forecast said it will rain all day ... It did rain but at night.)

I stitched a little bit last night:

Summer day.

Today was warm and sunny. Some unhappy people will complain it's too hot but they need to learn to appreciate these few days every year where we can say "yes! it's summer!" We had a nice barbecue at my parent's and the kids had plenty of outside fun. I took advantage to stitch outside: so delicious !

Barbara, I don't think I'm a fast stitcher. I think you get that feeling because I tend to stitch one project at the time (well, that's what I was trying to do until the christmas tree and the summer cottage disaster ... ) Here is what I stitched last night:

Progress and stash.

We went to spend the afternon with a friend after Steb's nap so the kids could play together. That was a nice way to spend the afternoon. My friend has been suffering since monday because she got one of her wise tooth removed. Well, she decided she won't have the other tooth removed in a thousand year !!!

My new project is still very nice to stitch and I decided to stitch the little girl first:

My stash got happy last week: I got this kit on ebay:

A perfect medium size project for a girl who bought too many large size kits ...
